Local Organizations Receive Operation Round Up Grant
Plymouth, Ind. – Operation Round Up awards local non-profits with grants to support the work they do in the community. The Marshall County REMC Operation Round Up® board awarded $5,000 to 5 organizations to support the work they do in the community.
99+1 From Ashes to Fire Revival Ministry received funding to assist with the cost of purchasing brochures and bibles in preparation for the launch of their mobile outreach events. 99+1 From Ashes to Fire Revival Ministry’s mission is to provide support, connection and path forward through outreach and faith-based encouragement to individuals battling addiction, mental health challenges and life instability.
Argos High School’s Track team received funding to support the new Track & Field team so they could purchase supplies and uniforms for their inaugural season. Argos High School’s Track team provides students with the opportunity to remain physically active while developing teamwork, leadership skills, discipline and perseverance.
Integrity Kids Inc. received funding to assist with the cost of community meals for Integrity Kids’ 50 summer camp participants. Integrity Kids provides after-school care and youth development programming for Marshall County children from kindergarten through high school.
Scouting America’s Lasalle Council received funding to assist with the cost of matched day camp scholarships for Marshall County Scouts. Scouting America’s mission is to build character, citizenship and leadership by instilling the values of the Scout Oath and Law through outdoor programs and experiential learning – developing the next generation of community-minded leaders, neighbors and volunteers who give back to their communities.
The Poor Handmaids of Jesus Christ Foundation received funding to help provide the unhoused in Marshall County with temporary lodging and necessities until they can attain a stable income and afford housing. The Poor Handmaids of Jesus Christ Foundation are impelled to contribute to healing the wounds of vulnerable people and planet Earth through a faith-based service to the community.
The Operation Round Up program allows Marshall County REMC members to reach out to worthy causes in the community and work together to help others. Thank you to those members who round up their electric bill to the next highest dollar each month and to the Marshall County Community Foundation for making these donations possible.
The next round of grants will be awarded in July. Charitable organizations within the Marshall County REMC service territory are eligible to apply. Organizations may be granted only once in a 12-month cycle. The organization does not have to be a member of Marshall County REMC.
